A Traviel Pursuit

A personal chronicle of our travels inspired by a global pandemic…

In a Ronda-bout fashion…

The main attraction of a visit to Ronda is the view from Puente Nuevo (or the “new bridge”, as of 1793 that is), the trestle that connects the old town (La Cuidad) with the newer El Mercadillo district. “New” is relative here as the Puente Viejo (the “old bridge”) was completed in 1616 and the Puente Romano (the “Roman bridge”) survived from classical antiquity.

In this far-flung region of Spain, the Arab influence is still felt. Added here for theme’s sake as our schedules did not permit us time to visit.
